Consal Trade has completed a project to modernize the railway level crossing located at kilometer 62+407, between the Cogealac and Mihai Viteazu stations, with the aim of significantly increasing the level of safety and comfort for traffic participants. This road-rail intersection has been equipped with a modern warning and protection system, aligned with current requirements in terms of railway infrastructure.

The modernization involved the installation of an automated traffic light system, complemented by acoustic signals (bell), which effectively warn of the approach of a train. The warning process is well thought out: when a train is detected nearby, the flashing light signals and the sound signal are activated 8 seconds before the barriers start to lower. This time interval is essential to give drivers the opportunity to react safely, thus contributing to the prevention of incidents.

Another important technical element is the installation of rubber tiles in the contact area between the railway and the road. These have the role of reducing vibrations and noise felt when crossing, providing a smoother passage for vehicles and extending the lifespan of the infrastructure.

By implementing this project, Consal Trade reconfirms its commitment to quality, responsibility and safety. The new modernized crossing represents an example of good practice in the field of railway infrastructure, contributing to the fluidization of traffic and the reduction of risks in the areas of road intersection with the railway line.
